この度HECTAREでは、写真家・余宮飛翔による個展「Paraiso」を開催いたします。
余宮は撮り溜めた写真を素材として扱い、それらを切る、折るといった操作を加え制作しています。新作では、ファブリックやキャンバスなど複数のマテリアルに写真をプリントしています。その写真を切り分け、貼り合わせることで一枚のイメージとして再構成しています。
余宮は見るという行為を通して、触覚に近い感覚が立ち現れる状態を意識していると言います。それは触れられそうに感じながらも、実際には触れることができないような観念的な風景を表現する試みです。さらに本展では写真を基軸にした立体作品も展示されます。写真、絵画、彫刻といった領域を横断しながら、余宮の見出す新たな空間を体感できます。
「Paraiso」というタイトルは、どこかに存在する場所ではなく、感覚の中に現れる場所を示唆しています。それは記憶や身体の奥に浮かぶ風景として現れ、手作業の痕跡を通して、わずかな手触りのような感覚を伴います。
HECTARE is pleased to present “Paraiso,” a solo exhibition by photographer Tsubasa Yomiya.
Yomiya works with a collection of photographs taken over time, treating them as material. He cuts and folds these images, applying physical interventions to transform them. In his new works, photographs are printed on various materials such as fabric and canvas, then cut apart and reassembled into a single image.
Yomiya is interested in a state in which the act of looking evokes a sense akin to touch. His works attempt to create a conceptual landscape that feels almost within reach, yet ultimately remains untouchable. The exhibition also includes sculptural works based on photography. Moving across photography, painting, and sculpture, it offers an experience of a newly articulated spatial condition.
The title “Paraiso” suggests not a place that exists somewhere, but one that appears within perception. It emerges as a landscape that surfaces from memory and the body, accompanied by a subtle, tactile sensation shaped through traces of manual intervention.
Biography
1990年東京生まれ。2015年東京造形大学卒業。写真を起点に、記憶や想起されたイメージを重ね合わせ、複数の時間が交差する場を構築する。デジタル画像によって平滑化された視覚体験に対し、イメージを切る、折る、触れるといった行為を通じて変容させ、触覚的な知覚を視覚の中に織り込む。作品は平面から立体へと展開し、見ることを通じて触覚を喚起する。そこには、触れられそうで触れられない距離が立ち現れ、かすかな拠り所のような感覚を伴う。
主な展覧会に、「Idemitsu Art Award展」（国立新美術館、2025年）、「Delphian Open Call Winners」（UNIT1 Gallery, ロンドン、2024年）、「Mask」（PHOTO GALLERY FLOW NAGOYA、2024年）、「浅間国際フォトフェスティバル」（PHOTO MIYOTA、2024年）などがある。
Born in Tokyo, 1990. Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 2015. Working with photography as a point of departure, Yomiya constructs spaces where multiple temporalities intersect by layering memories and recollected images. In response to the flattened visual experience produced by digital imagery, he transforms images through acts such as cutting, folding, and touching, embedding tactile perception within the visual field and evoking a painterly sense of stratification. His practice extends from two-dimensional works to three-dimensional forms, traversing a range of materials. Through the act of viewing, the works evoke a sense of touch, in which a distance—at once tangible and elusive—emerges, carrying a subtle sense of emotional anchorage.
